Whether in life or in the field of production, gas cylinders are very common. It is a kind of pressure-bearing equipment, which is flammable, explosive, toxic, and highly corrosive, so the requirements for the placement of industrial gas cylinders are very strict. Today, let’s follow the editor to understand what the specific placement requirements are?
Introduction to the requirements for the placement of industrial gas cylinders
Industrial gas cylinders
1. Gas cylinders should be stored in a well-ventilated place, and it is strictly forbidden to store them near precision equipment, cables, refueling systems, flammable materials, etc. or in a confined space, and should be protected from sunlight exposure in summer. The cylinder must be fitted with two shockproof rings and a cylinder cap.
2. Gas cylinders should be stored upright, and should be placed in cylinder racks, cylinder cages or other specified areas, and should be fixed with special fixing facilities such as ropes and chains or other feasible measures.
3. Do not contact the gas cylinder with a live object, and the gas cylinder valve should not be contaminated with grease.
4. It is strictly forbidden to mix gas cylinders with flammable and explosive materials.
5. The cap of the cylinder should be tightened before handling. Gas cylinders should be loaded and unloaded lightly, and it is strictly forbidden to throw or roll, or collide. The movement of gas cylinders should use trolleys, board carts, etc.
6. It is forbidden to use the gas cylinder cap as a hanging point or handle.
7. It is strictly forbidden to put the gas cylinder close to the heat source, and the storage environment temperature of the gas cylinder shall meet the following regulations: acetylene cylinder shall not be higher than 40 °C, argon cylinder shall not be higher than 50 °C, and oxygen cylinder shall not be higher than 60 °C.
8. The gas in the cylinder must not be exhausted. The residual pressure of the oxygen cylinder shall not be less than 0.2MPa. The residual pressure of the argon cylinder should not be less than 0.5MPa. The residual pressure of acetylene cylinder shall not be lower than the following provisions: the residual pressure is 0.1MPa at ambient temperature 0 °C ~ 15 °C, the residual pressure is 0.2MPa at ambient temperature 15 °C ~ 25 °C, and the residual pressure is 0.3MPa at ambient temperature 25 °C ~ 40 °C.
9. It is strictly forbidden to mix oxygen and acetylene cylinders, and when carrying out gas welding (cutting) operations, a safety distance of at least 5 meters should be maintained between oxygen cylinders and acetylene cylinders, and the safety distance between gas cylinders and fire points should not be less than 10 meters.
10. Gas cylinder accessories, such as safety helmets, shockproof circles, pressure gauges, pressure reducing valves, etc., should be complete and qualified, dissolved acetylene cylinders and other combustible gas cylinders should also be set up with anti-tempering devices suitable for the type of gas, and different types of anti-tempering devices should not be mixed.
11. Dissolved acetylene cylinders should not be placed horizontally when in use.
12. The hose connected to the gas cylinder must be tied firmly with hoops, and the hose that is damaged or severely aged must not be used.
13. Before carrying out gas welding (cutting) operations, the air tightness of the gas cylinder system should be checked, and the system should not be used when there is a leak.
14. Gas cylinders that are overdue or have not been manufactured and inspected shall not be used.
15. Do not use dangerous methods such as rope pulling to transport gas cylinders to high places, nor do you use the way to transport gas cylinders from stairs or ramps to move down freely.
